Help & User Guide
Everything you need to know about using DogBoxx.
Booking a walk
In the Make a booking section on your home screen.
- Tap a date on the calendar — dates with existing bookings are highlighted.
- Choose Walk from the drop down
- Choose a time slot, either Morning or Afternoon or Both walks.
- Tap Request walk. If we have availability, you'll see a confirmation message. Otherwise, you'll be waitlisted. If a slot becomes available, you'll get a notification in the app.
Booking a drop-in
A drop-in is a 15 - 20 minute comfort break and a cuddle. The morning drop in will be around 10:30 am and the afternoon drop in will be around 3:30pm. In the Make a booking section on your home screen.
- Choose Drop in from the drop down list
- Choose a slot (Morning or Afternoon).
- Tap Request drop-in.
Recurring bookings
Book the same slot every week without repeating the process each time.
- Enable the Repeat weekly toggle in the booking form.
- Tick the days of the week you want to repeat on.
- Set an end date (up to one year ahead).
- A preview shows how many bookings will be created.
- Tap Request recurring to submit.
Same-day booking
- Same-day bookings are marked as requested and flagged to Lydia for review.
- She plans the pickup schedule in advance, so it may not always be possible to accept a last-minute booking.
- You'll get a notification if she confirms your booking request.
Managing bookings
You'll see upcoming bookings on your home screen. The calendar on the home screen highlights dates with bookings. Green for confirmed and yellow for requested. Tap a date to filter the list.
- Confirmed — your booking is confirmed.
- Requested — awaiting confirmation from DogBoxx.
- Waitlisted — the slot was full; you'll be moved up if a space opens.
Cancellations
Click the x to cancel any upcoming booking directly from the home screen. A pop up message will ask you to confirm cancellation. Confirmed bookings cancelled within 5 days are still charged. The pop up will remind you of the cancellation policy.
Pausing walks
Going on holiday? Use Pause Walks to cancel all bookings in a date range.
- Tap Pause Walks on your home screen.
- Set a start and end date.
- Tap on Preview affected walks to see which bookings will be cancelled.

Security & privacy
Your data is stored securely
DogBoxx is hosted on Railway, on servers located in the European Union. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption. We back up your data on Cloudflare, also on EU-based servers.
Caching — faster loading
The app stores a small set of static files on your device (stylesheets, scripts, and images) using your browser's built-in cache. This is called an app shell cache and means pages load quickly even on a slow connection. No personal data is stored in this cache — only the code and design assets needed to display the app. The cache is updated automatically whenever the app is updated.
Cookies & staying logged in
DogBoxx uses two cookies — text files stored in your browser:
- Session cookie — keeps you logged in while you use the app. This is deleted when you log out or close your browser (unless you tick Remember me at login, in which case it persists for up to 30 days).
- Security token (CSRF) — a hidden value included with every form submission to protect against cross-site request forgery attacks. It is never shared with third parties.
We do not use advertising cookies or any tracking or analytics.
